LegiStorm publishes the latest House and Senate salaries
The latest congressional staff salaries from the Senate and House of Representatives, covering the period ending March 31, 2012, are now online and available in LegiStorm's database.
The House of Representatives, which makes its information available quarterly, released the salaries for the first quarter of 2012 yesterday. The Senate releases information ever six months, and its data covers the period from Oct. 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
Both the House and Senate release the salaries online as PDF files, with different formats. LegiStorm parses the information from the PDF into our system, then goes through an extensive process of cleaning up the data, researching and matching records with our existing database. We constantly try to improve our system, and this is the first time we have made both the House and Senate information the day after it was publicly released.
To find the latest salary data for a specific lawmaker or office, you can use the search box at the top of all LegiStorm pages, or browse from our salary home page.
LegiStorm is also continuing to gather and digitize staffer financial disclosures that have been released for 2012. Member of Congress disclosures are due out on June 15. If the House and Senate follow their schedule from past years, LegiStorm should have all member disclosures up online shortly after noon on the day they are released.
