LegiStorm: Transparency's Sidekick

Dear Sir: I am a resident of Missouri who has enjoyed the many county and state parks of Iowa, spending many trips traveling in your state. I am very complimentary of your state's committment to public use of the outdoors. As a single woman, i often camp alone and I am becoming concerned for my safety as I grow older. I have trouble walking and move every slowly. I have qualified in Missouri to carry a concealed weapon. I would never of thought of myself carrying a pistol when I was younger, but now I feel I can no longer take care of myself with out a weapon. Hence, my delima, I can not carry a gun in Iowa because your state does not recognize another state's permit. Do you see any likelyhood that Iowa may change their concealed weapons laws in the future? I hope you and your fellow lawmakers will give this some thought. I would like to continue spending my tourism dollards in Iowa. I have many favorite places besides Lamoni and Nine Eagles that I would like to return to visit. But, I do have concerns.
