I oppose the Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 (H.R. 1913) and I ask you to vote against this bill. This legislation is a stepping-stone to regulating the speech of people who support family values and could lead to the censoring of pastors and churches that speak out against homosexuality. Special rights should not be granted to people based on "sexual orientation" and "gender identity," especially since the bill does not clearly define these terms.
