TAYLOR, Charles Hart, a Representative from North Carolina; born in Brevard, Transylvania County, N.C., January 23, 1941; graduated from Brevard High School, Brevard, N.C.; B.A., Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, N.C., 1963; J.D., Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, N.C., 1966; member of the North Carolina state house of representatives, 1967-1973; member of the North Carolina state senate, 1973-1975; unsuccessful candidate for election to the One Hundred First Congress in 1988; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Second and to the seven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1991-January 3, 2007); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Tenth Congress in 2006.
