Senator Isakson, I am writing to you to seek your help in renewing the SBIR program that is about to expire March 11. I am the president of a small business, Propagation Research Associates, Inc. (PRA), in Marietta and started the business in 2001 using SBIR funds. Approximately 90% of PRA's business is through SBIR contracts and we currently rank 13th among Georgia businesses receiving Federal contracts. For me the SBIR program is all about job creation. I took a risk in 2001 to start this business but the SBIR program allowed me to build a technical staff that is developing military and commercial technology. We have grown from one employee in 2001 to twenty (20) employees today using SBIR contracts. These employees all have families and dependents that are being supported by PRA and the SBIR program. I invite you to visit our facility to see an SBIR Program success story. However in the mean time I need your support in renewing the SBIR program through legislative action. Otherwise, PRA and businesses like PRA will be forced to lay-off valuable staff or possibly even close our doors completely. I appreciate your efforts in addressing this matter. E. Jeff Holder, Ph.D. President Propagation Research Associates, Inc. 1275 Kennestone Circle, Suite 100 Marietta GA 30066 678-384-3402
