Agriculture policy expert leaves Hill to advocate for sustainable farming

Posted by John Sugden on June 16, 2014
An experienced agriculture policy expert has left Capitol Hill to put down new roots at the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition.

Paul Wolfe has joined the association of grassroots organizations as a policy specialist. He most recently worked on Sen. Maria Cantwell's (D-Wash.) staff as legislative counsel, with a focus on agriculture, among other issues.

The coalition and its members advocate for federal reforms in support of sustainable food production and specifically support smaller family farms.

A graduate of Gonzaga University, Wolfe worked for Sens. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) before leaving for a job with the Investment Company Institute. After a brief stint there, Wolfe joined the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as a senior policy analyst and contributed to the final report of the Pew Commission on Industrial Farm Animal Protection.

Wolfe returned to the Hill in 2008, joining Cantwell's staff as a legislative assistant.
