Runyan misses financial disclosure deadline

Posted by Jenna Ebersole on Sept. 23, 2014

Rep. Jon Runyan (R-N.J.) was late to the line of scrimmage once again with filing his personal financial disclosure form this year.

The disclosures for Runyan, a former professional football player, were due in May. Runyan filed a three-month extension until Aug. 13, but he filed his form a month late on Sept. 11. It was released by the House this week.

Members and staff face a $200 late filing penalty for missing the deadline but also get a 30-day grace period before receiving the fine. Runyan's filing came in just before the end of the grace period.

He filed last year's form Sept. 5.

The congressman announced last year that he will not seek reelection.
