Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) attended Syracuse in 1978-79, while Rep. Tom Rooney (R-Fla.), the grandson of Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney, attended Syracuse in the late 1980s and played football for the Orange. Rep. John Katko (R-N.Y.) earned his JD from Syracuse in 1988.
Rep. Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.) earned his BA in history and economics from North Carolina in 1975. Rep. Susan Davis (D-Calif.) earned her BA and MSW at UNC in 1965 and 1968, respectively. Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) earned her AB and MACT degrees from North Carolina in 1968 and 1972, respectively. Rep. Gwen Graham (D-Fla.) earned her bachelor's degree in 1984 at UNC, while Rep. David Price (D-N.C.) got his BA in history and mathematics as a Tar Heel in 1961. Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Va.) earned his MPH at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health in 1990.
