Dairy farmer rep pencils in dairy princess for scheduler

Posted by Nate Hoffman on May 13, 2016

Rep. David Valadao (R-Calif.), a dairy farmer by trade, hires agricultural royalty in his Capitol Hill office.

Allison Rosa, who was just hired as a scheduler for the Californian, was crowned as Kings County's (Calif.) First Alternate Dairy Princess in 2012. The competition was part of the June Dairy Month celebration in the Central Valley. Her sister, Emily, was named Second Alternate Dairy Princess a year later. Her parents, Rolland and Karen, operate Rosa Brothers Milk Co. in Tulare. The Fresno Pacific University graduate also has milked her dairy experiences from her time interning with AgNet West and being a member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting.

Rosa previously interned for Valadao in his Hanford office in 2014. The congressman runs Valadao Dairy with his brothers since 1992 and is the vice chair of the House Appropriations Committee's Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies Subcommittee.
