Rep. Noem policy adviser sowing seeds on K Street

The American Soybean Association has harvested Rep. Kristi Noem's (R-S.D.) senior policy adviser.

Renee Munasifi is the trade group's new regulatory affairs manager. The South Dakota native had been with Noem's office since 2011.

The ASA is no stranger to Noem, who belonged to the House Agriculture Committee until last year, when her inauguration into the Ways and Means Committee forced her to resign her other committee memberships. And earlier this year, the group announced it was "extremely pleased" with a biodiesel tax-credit bill that Noem had introduced.

The ASA currently outsources its lobbying work, which includes various agricultural and trade issues, to Gordley Associates for about $440,000 per year.
