Customs and Border Protection adds House aide

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Sept. 26, 2017

U.S. Customs and Border Protection picked up a new press secretary from the office of Rep. John Carter (R-Texas).

Corry Schiermeyer has previously held positions as the USDA's deputy communications director and as director of global communications to George W. Bush's National Security Council. The Texas native had worked on Carter's press team since 2015, most recently as his communications director.

Carter chairs the House Appropriations Committee's Subcommittee on Homeland Security, which oversees appropriations for the agency where Schiermeyer now works.
