Ex-chief of staff comes back for more

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Jan. 26, 2018

Rep. Randy Hultgren's (R-Ill.) new chief of staff just couldn't kick the Capitol Hill habit.

Dean Peterson, who starts with Hultgren this month, has 20 years of experience working for the House, including 17 years as chief of staff to retired Rep. Jim Ramstad (R-Minn.).

Peterson most recently worked as executive director of communications at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, the addiction-treatment organization formed from a 2014 merger between the Betty Ford Center and the Hazelden Foundation.

Peterson replaced Katherine McGuire, who left Hultgren's office earlier this month after being confirmed as the Labor Department's assistant secretary for congressional and intergovernmental affairs.
