EPW Dems add lobbyist for trial lawyers' group

An attorney who's spent years lobbying against tort reform has finally made it to the Hill.

Andrew Rogers is now Democrats' chief counsel to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee under Tom Carper (D-Del.). He had worked as a lobbyist for the American Association for Justice since 2013, most recently as senior federal relations counsel.

The trial attorneys' advocacy group, which focuses on opposing tort reform, spent more than $8.1 million to lobby the federal government last year.
