Sen. Cantwell aide heads to Humana

A Democratic staffer has taken nearly two decades of Senate work experience to the health-insurance industry.

Rosemary Gutierrez is now government-affairs director at Humana, one of the country's biggest health insurers. In the last year, Humana disclosed federal lobbying expenses of more than $6.5 million.

Gutierrez comes from the office of Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), where she most recently served as deputy chief of staff. Before that, she worked for the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee and for former Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa).
