Rep. Messer's new communication director is experienced TV personality

Posted by Nate Hoffman on Oct. 16, 2013

A former television personality is taking her talents in front of the camera to behind the scenes on Capitol Hill.

Liz Hill, after eight years working for NBC's Augusta, Ga. affiliate, joined Rep. Luke Messer's (R-Ind.) staff as his new communications director. While employed with WAGT-TV, she worked as a reporter before becoming a morning news anchor. Hill developed a bi-monthly segment, "26 Women to Watch," and moderated a 2012 debate among the three Republican candidates vying for Rep. John Barrow's (D-Ga.) seat. Her performance gained her local recognition by local organizations for Best Local TV Personality, Top 10 in 10 Young Professionals to Watch and Best Local TV Anchor.

Before her time at WAGT-TV, Hill interned for former Speaker Dennis Hastert's (R-Ill.) press office and Fox News Channel's "Weekend Live."
