Pennsylvania Dem loses state director to K St.

Posted by Nate Hoffman on March 18, 2015

A 15-year Hill veteran has departed from Sen. Bob Casey's (D-Pa.) office for a lobbying gig.

Ed Williams, who most recently was the senior senator's state director and senior counsel for the past four years, has joined McAllister and Quinn LLC as their newest vice president. In his new position, Williams will consult clients on how to obtain federal funding, foster both private-public and international partnerships and build foundation support.

The Washington, D.C.-based firm has helped find funding opportunities for such clients as Fontbonne University, medical genetics company GenoPATH and the Hackensack University Health Network.

Williams began his congressional career as a staff assistant with Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.) after a seven-month stint with the U.S. Department of Education. After climbing the ranks to projects assistant, Williams switched to Casey's office in 2007, where he served as a legislative assistant and a projects and appropriations director prior to being the chief state-based staffer.

The Wilkes-Barre, Pa. native has earned a BA from Franklin and Marshall College, an MA from American University and a JD from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
