Indian Affairs staffer takes job with conservation nonprofit

Posted by Jenna Ebersole on May 4, 2015

A former staffer with the Senate Indian Affairs Committee has registered to lobby for American Rivers.

Brendan Mysliwiec started in March as associate director of government relations at the conservation organization. He joined the nonprofit after just over a year with the committee as a legal fellow, legislative assistant and Democratic Counsel.

Mysliwiec has filed his first lobbying paperwork for the first quarter of 2015, registering to advocate on topics including Keystone XL, clean air, water and energy issues.

Mysliwiec, who has law and master's degrees from Ohio State University, also worked on the Hill in 2007 as an intern for then-Rep. Kristen Gillibrand (D-N.Y.). The newly registered lobbyist has past experience working at the Ohio Senate, Supreme Court of Ohio and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
