A former Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) top aide has filed paperwork indicating that she will be lobbying to fight government waste.

Kristin Amerling, the chief counsel to Waxman on the Energy and Commerce Committee, joined Taxpayers Against Fraud in January as executive director but the lobbying filing was released this weekend. Taxpayers Against Fraud supports the use of citizens filing False Claims Act suits when they know of fraud against the government. These suits can sometimes pack a poweful punch, making whistleblowers rich if they successfully show that the government was defrauded.
