Whoops!

Hurricane Irene may have done more than wipe out parts of the Eastern seaboard in 2011. It may have also wiped out Rep. Mike Grimm (R-N.Y.)'s memory since he forgot to disclose a trip he was taking at the time to Cyprus - until now.

Grimm's several days in the towns of Larnaca and Nicosia came after the congressman spent a week in Israel on a trip sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation. Grimm, whose Staten Island and Brooklyn district is home to many Cypriots and Greeks, met with local leaders and government officials during his stay. Cyprus Federation of America was supposed to host Grimm and his chief-of-staff, Chris Berardini, for a week, but Irene's devastation forced Grimm to return from Cyrpus early, according to his travel disclosure. Berardini's paperwork from the trip has not been released at this point.

House ethics rules call for all privately financed travel to be reported within 15 days after returning.
