Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and co-chair of the Senate Oceans Caucus, has hired a former member of the environmental lobby.

Emily Enderle left Earthjustice, where she was an environmental health advocate for more than three years, to become Whitehouse's environmental policy adviser. A well-established non-profit law firm that provides legal challenges to environmental legislation, Earthjustice sports the motto, "Because the earth needs a good lawyer." The latest lobbying filings from the second quarter of 2012 indicate Enderle was focusing on the Safe Chemical Act in the Senate.
