Is casting spells and chasing the Golden Snitch what's next for a former Rep. Betty McCollum (D-Minn.) aide after her time with the congresswoman?

Melissa Jamrock added an unusual new job to her LinkedIn profile following her three-and-a-half years as McCollum's district scheduler and outreach coordinator: independent consultant at the Ministry of Magic of Harry Potter fame. Although the description underneath her new job at the Ministry on LinkedIn sounds like she is working as a campaign guru-for-hire, LegiStorm was intrigued enough to reach out to her for a fuller explanation. Jamrock obliged, writing in an email:

"The Ministry of Magic approached me since they were looking for someone in the United States to help strengthen their relationships with the local magic community as they work towards the 2014 Quidditch World Cup in St. Paul. I figured with my experience and relationships here in Minnesota, it would be a good opportunity for me - in addition to the work I did during my internship at the local Ministry office in Hogsmeade while doing a study abroad term at Hogwarts (Go Slytherin!)."
