A common progression for policy-minded Hill staffers is to progress from legislative assistant to legislative director. However, how many graduate from legislative director to assistant athletic director? At least one since a former Rep. Quico Canseco (R-Texas) aide made that move.
Casey Hogan left the congressman to work at his collegiate alma mater, Tarleton State University. A fairly recent graduate from 2007, he will focus on development and major gifts in addition to serving as a radio broadcaster for the school's athletic teams. Hogan earned his stripes in Rep. John Carter (R-Texas)'s office for almost three years before a brief stint as Canseco's legislative director in 2012.
