The House received a communication from Jill Craven. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Ms. Craven notified the House that she had been served with a preliminary hearing subpoena for testimony issued by the Court of the Eighteenth Judicial District of Kansas, and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, she had determined that compliance with the subpoena is consistent with the privileges and rights of the House.

The House received a communication from the Honorable John A. Boehner, Republican Leader. Pursuant to Section 605(a) of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2008 (P.L. 110-161), Mr. Boehner appointed Dr. David Schonfeld of Glendale, Ohio and Mr. Lawrence E. Tan of Newark, Delaware to the Commission on Children and Disasters.
