APPOINTMENT - Pursuant to the provisions of Section 201(a)(2) of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974, the Chair announced that the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate had appointed Dr. Douglas W. Elmendorf as Director of the Congressional Budget Office effective immediately for the remainder of the term expiring January 3, 2011.
The House received a message from the Senate. The Senate passed S. 181.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG - The Chair led the House in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
The Speaker announced approval of the Journal
