OATH OF OFFICE - Representative-Elect Scott Murphy, Twentieth District, State of New York, presented himself in the well of the House for the purpose of taking the Oath of Office which was administered by the Speaker of the House.

The House received a message from the Clerk. The Clerk transmitted to the House a facsimile copy of a letter received from Mr. Todd D. Valentine and Mr. Stanley L. Zalen, Co-Executive Directors of the New York State Board of Elections, State of New York, indicating that, according to the unofficial returns of the Special Election held on March 31, 2009, the Honorable Scott Murphy was elected Representative to Congress of the Twentieth Congressional District, State of New York.
