The House received a communication from John A. Boehner, Republican Leader. Pursuant to Section 125(c)(1) of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (P.L. 110-343), Republican Leader Boehner appointed Mr. J. Mark McWatters of Dallas, Texas to the Congressional Oversight Panel. The appointment filled the vacancy created by the Honorable Jeb Hensarling, who had resigned the position, effective upon Mr. McWatters' appointment.

The House received a communication from John Sarbanes, Member of Congress. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, the Honorable John Sarbanes notified the House that he had been served with a third-party subpoena issued by the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, for production of documents in connection with a civil matter and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he had determined that compliance with the subponea was consistent with the precedents and privileges of the House.
