The House received a communication from the Honorable John D. Dingell. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dingell notified the House that he had been served with a subpoena for testimony and documents by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he had determined that compliance with the subpoena was inconsistent with the precedents and privileges of the House.

The House received a communication from the Honorable Carolyn C. Kilpatrick. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Ms. Kilpatrick notified the House that she had been served with a grand jury subpoena for testimony by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and that after consultation with her attorney, she would make the determination required by the rule.
