The House received a communication from Michael Nielsen, Casework Supervisor/Office Manager for the Honorable Xavier Becerra. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Nielsen notified the House that he was served with a subpoena issued by the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles for witness testimony. Mr. Nielsen informed the house that prior to his required appearance, the defendant in the case pled no contest to a lesser charge, thereby alleviating any need for his testimony and that after consultation with the office of General Counsel and as a result of developments in the case, no determination regarding compliance with the subpoena was required.
