OATH OF OFFICE - Representatives-elect Shontel Brown and Mike Carey presented themselves in the well of the House to take the Oath of Office administered by the Speaker of the House.

Ms. Kaptur asked for unanimous consent that the gentlewoman from Ohio, the Honorable Shontel Brown and the gentleman from Ohio, the Honorable Mike Carey, be permitted to take the oath of office today. Their certificates of election have not arrived, but there is no contest and no question has been raised with regard to their elections.

The House received a message from the Clerk. The Clerk transmitted a copy of the letter received from Ms. Amanda M. Grandjean, Esq., Director of Elections and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Ohio Office of the Secretary of State, indicating that, according to the unofficial results of the Special Congressional General Elections held November 2, 2021, the Honorable Shontel M. Brown was elected Representative to Congress for the Eleventh Congressional District, State of Ohio, and the Honorable Mike Carey was elected Representative to Congress for the Fifteenth Congressional District, State of Ohio.
