CHI is your most effective channel for direct political involvement, enabling members to meet legislators and influence the laws and regulations that affect their business. Uniting biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics companies, as well as the state’s premier universities and private research institutions, and the legal, accounting, consulting and financial service organizations that support them, CHI works with its members to advocate policies and actions that promote the economic well-being and emphasize the value of the work of its member companies.
For 20 years, CHI has been the voice of the California biomedical community in Sacramento and Washington D.C. As a trusted bi-partisan voice on policy with the California congressional delegation, the governor and state legislature, CHI works to influence law, regulation, reimbursement, and key government agencies by providing timely thought leadership, statewide industry reports, economic data, white papers, and policy forums. For the benefit of all in the biomedical industry, CHI also offers receptions, roundtables, and other events that encourage biomedical executive-legislator interaction.
CHI was founded in 1993 as an independent 501(c)(6) organization devoted to researching and advocating policy to forward the interests of California’s biomedical community.
