Organization's Own Description:
The National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees ("NABT") is a nonprofit association formed in 1982 to address the needs of chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees and to promote the effectiveness of the bankruptcy system as a whole.
Membership in NABT is open to chapter 7 trustees and their staff, judges, employees of the Office of the U.S. Trustee, and associated professionals and businesses. Our associate members include attorneys, accountants, auctioneers, appraisers, insurance agents, software providers and bankers.
The Association is committed to improving the administration of bankruptcy by promoting professionalism, education, and the open exchange of ideas among its members and other members of the bankruptcy community. NABT has successfully raised issues of concern for its members to the U.S. Congress, the Office of the U.S. Trustee, and the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, as well as other organizations involved in bankruptcy or with the legislative process.
