Carney staffer becomes National Guard lobbyist

Posted by Jenna Ebersole on Jan. 15, 2015

A legislative aide in Rep. John Carney's (D-Del.) office has left and registered to lobby for the National Guard Association of the United States.

Matt Pincus started on the Hill in Carney's office in 2012 as a legislative correspondent and staff assistant, but now serves as legislative manager for Air Guard programs at the lobbying organization. He has filed lobbying papers for the first time, registering to lobby on defense issues including the National Defense Authorization Act.

Pincus became passionate about the Guard during his time in Carney's office, according to a NGAUS press release. He said he plans to use his Capitol Hill network to lobby for the Guard.

The former staffer has a bachelor's degree from Skidmore College and a master's in global security studies from Johns Hopkins University.
