Pitney Bowes nabs Ways and Means trade attorney

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Oct. 24, 2016

A House Ways and Means Committee trade attorney is putting her stamp on Washington by going to Pitney Bowes, the struggling business mailing giant.

Nasim Deylami Fussell began a position as senior manager of government and regulatory affairs this month with the company, a member of the S&P 500 with $3.6 billion in annual sales last year. The company has spent nearly $1.3 million on lobbying so far this year, all on postal issues. Pitney Bowes has been known traditionally for facilitating shipping and mailing by businesses but as that business has declined, it has been trying to expand into e-commerce, location intelligence and customer information management solutions.

Fussell has worked as trade counsel for the Trade Subcommittee of the House Ways and Means Committee since 2014. She previously lobbied for the U.S. Council for International Business and worked as a customs attorney for General Motors. When she was with the Council, she registered as a lobbyist. She has not yet registered as a lobbyist in her new position.
