Penn Hill VP becomes HELP minority education director

A Penn Hill Group vice president with 12 years of Hill experience has returned to Congress as the Senate HELP Committee's new minority director of education policy.

Kara Marchione had been with the education- and workforce-focused lobbying firm since 2012. Her clients included the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, Grantmakers in the Arts and Microsoft Corp.

The American University grad previously worked for the House Education and the Workforce Committee, Rep. Dave Loebsack (D-Iowa) and former Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.).
