TransCanada picks up adviser from pipeline-friendly rep.

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on March 30, 2017

A Democratic congressman who backs the Keystone XL pipeline has lost a senior policy adviser to TransCanada, the company behind the controversial project.

Jim Gordon, now the energy company’s manager of U.S. federal government relations and policy, had worked for Rep. Stephen Lynch since 2001, serving as the Massachusetts Democrat’s senior policy adviser since 2010.

Gordon’s former boss has previously expressed support for the pipeline project, once publicly arguing with a prominent billionaire environmentalist over the pipeline, which President Donald Trump approved for construction last week.
