Senate Finance press secretary joins biotech firm

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on April 27, 2017

Biotech company Celgene Corp. has picked up its newest public affairs employee from the Senate Finance Committee.

Aaron Fobes, now an associate director at Celgene handling public affairs and policy, had worked as the committee's majority press secretary since 2014. He came to the Hill as an aide to former Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) shortly after graduating from Baylor University in 2011.

Celgene specializes in cancer and inflammatory-disorder medications. The company spent $2.38 million on lobbying last year and has already spent at least $1.36 million in 2017 alone.
