Bayer Corp. picks up ex-lobbyist and Senate aide

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on May 25, 2017

Pharmaceutical powerhouse Bayer picked up a former lobbyist and Senate aide as its deputy director of federal relations and policy this month.

Luke Tomanelli worked for former Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) and the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, which Vitter chaired until his retirement at the end of last term.  Tomanelli has also worked for Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and the House Ways and Means Committee.

At Bayer, the Connecticut native will focus on energy, environmental and agricultural policy, a portfolio similar to the one he held as a lobbyist at Faegre Baker Daniels Consulting.
