Like her ex-boss, House aide has chemistry with trade group

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on June 13, 2017

A year after partnering with the National Association of Chemical Distributors to launch a congressional caucus, Rep. John Moolenaar (R-Mich.) has lost a legislative assistant to the trade group.

Lindsay Ryan is now the NACD's director of legislative affairs. She came to the Hill in 2011 as an aide to former Rep. David Camp (R-Mich.), moving to Moolenaar's office upon Camp's 2015 retirement from Congress.

Moolenar co-founded the Congressional Chemistry Caucus, a partnership between NACD, the American Chemical Society and the American Chemistry Council, last year. The chemical industry makes up Michigan's fifth-largest manufacturing sector, generating $16.4 billion annually in Moolenaar's state, according to the Michigan Chemistry Council.
