Bean counters' group adds Sen. Durbin aide

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants can now count a former aide to Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) among its staff.

Lakecia Foster Stickney, the trade group's director of congressional and political affairs, had worked as Durbin's economic policy adviser since 2015. She came to the Hill in 2009 and has held policy positions with Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) and former Rep. Mel Watt (D-N.C.).

AICPA disclosed $3.36 million in lobbying expenses, mainly through its in-house team, for the first half of 2017. The organization lobbies on a wide range of tax, finance and labor issues.
