Sen. Schatz adds telecom lobbyist ahead of FCC vote

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Nov. 27, 2017

Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) has picked up a telecommunications lobbyist, just weeks before a Federal Communications Commission vote to repeal net-neutrality rules.

Eric Einhorn spent the last decade at Internet provider Windstream, a Fortune 500 company. Einhorn has also held positions at the FCC, including working as chief of telecommunication-access policy to the agency's Wireline Competition Bureau. He now served as a legislative assistant handling Schatz's telecom portfolio.

Schatz is ranking member of the Commerce Committee's Communications, Technology, Innovation and Internet Subcommittee. He's voiced strong disapproval of the FCC's proposed net-neutrality roll-back, which the agency is scheduled to vote on next month.
