J Street scores Senate Narcotics aide

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Feb. 23, 2018

The newest member of J Street's lobbying team comes from an unlikely source: the Senate Narcotics Caucus.

Ashley Freiberger is now associate director of government affairs for the liberal pro-Israel advocacy group. She had spent the last couple of years as a Democratic legislative assistant under caucus co-chair Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). The caucus was created in 1985 to fight drug trafficking and abuse.

J Street spends about $400,000 a year to lobby the federal government on policy issues related primarily to Israel, Palestine and Iran. Freiberger has not yet registered as a lobbyist with the advocacy group.
