Facebook snags House legislative director

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on May 3, 2018

In the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Facebook has added another Hill staffer to its lobbying team.

Chris Randle started on Monday as the tech giant's newest government affairs specialist. He previously served as legislative director to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.). Randle, who holds bachelors and law degrees from Howard University, has also worked for Rep. Karen Bass, ex-Rep. Loretta Sanchez and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, all California Democrats.

Facebook has recently been in hot water for inadequately protecting private user information, especially from third-party data firm Cambridge Analytica, with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg testifying before the Senate last month. The company has so far disclosed a whopping $3.8 million spent on federal lobbying in the first three months of 2018.
