A Washington pit stop before cars take flight

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on May 14, 2018

A Chinese developer has hired a lobbyist to convince Washington that flying cars are indeed the future.

Terrafugia, which is Chinese-owned but based in Massachusetts, recently disclosed that it's hired Kate Hallahan to lobby on "policies, legislation and regulations related to electric vertical take off and landing (eVOL) technologies."

Hallahan, a Demoratic transportation expert, worked for the House Appropriations Committee and the Federal Aviation Administration before opening her one-woman Team Hallahan shop in 2016.

Terrafugia's disclosure comes just after last week's Uber Elevate Summit, where Uber unveiled a flying-taxi prototype that the rideshare company hopes to begin testing in 2020.
