Outgoing Rep. Jason Altmire (D-Pa.) held open the revolving door for his new communications director in June.

Rachael Heisler joined Altmire's D.C. staff after many years working on campaigns with the congressman. Heisler also spent time lobbying at Greenlee Partners, a Harrisburg-based firm. In 2007, Mine Safety Appliances Co. hired Heisler and the Greenlee team to influence a defense appropriations bill, according to a lobbying disclosure from that time.

Altmire was defeated in a close primary against fellow Rep. Mark Critz (D-Pa.) in April.
