A new aide to Rep. Ron Barber (D-Ariz.) returns to the House this month after spending the last four years lobbying for repeal of the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

Jeremy Wilson-Simerman became Barber's military legislative assistant following a position as government affairs director with Servicemembers Legal Defense Network. According to SLDN's website, the group is "dedicated to bringing about full LGBT equality to America's military." Wilson-Simerman began his career in Washington as a staff assistant and legislative correspondent for Rep. Jim Costa (D-Calif.).
