Water Generating Systems (WGS) is a pioneering atmospheric water-harvesting engineering research and development company focused solely on the global needs of water sustainability and critical supporting technologies.
WGS’s units are designed to generate pure drinking water directly from atmospheric humidity in any suitable environment, using considerably less energy and operating more cost-effectively than any other competing system in the world today. Additionally, our units can produce the largest volume of fresh drinking water per unit of energy, as compared to any other water generating product currently available. Notably, WGS is able to accomplish this level of water production with absolutely no adverse impacts on the environment.
Originally formed as ‘Marine Desalination Systems’ (MDS), WGS’s predecessor company was awarded four grants totaling $19.1 million by the U.S. Department of Defense to develop an optimal and versatile water generating system. That funding resulted in the filing of 14 patents (plus two patents pending filed in 2015) with the U.S. Patent Office and the successful manufacturing and testing of the core WGS technology system at the U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Grounds Facility.
Water collected and produced by WGS units exceeds the quality requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Saudi Arabia Standards Organization (SASO). WGS has also done extensive third-party testing to validate and ensure that our water quality, safety and operating performance exceed international standards and benchmarks.
