Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on August 1, 2008, at 5:40 p.m., stating that that body had passed with an amendment H.R. 2095, H.R. 2608, and H.R 5683; and passed S. 2507 and S.J.Res. 45.

Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on August 1, 2008, at 1:25 p.m., stating that that body had passed without amendment H.R. 4210, H.R. 5477, H.R. 5483, H.R. 5631, H.R. 6061, H.R. 6085, H.R. 6150, H.R. 6432 and passed S. 3241.

ADJUSTED WHOLE NUMBER OF THE HOUSE - Under clause 5(d) of rule XX, the Chair announced that, in light of the recent passing of the gentlewoman from Ohio, Mrs. Jones, the whole number of the House is 434.
