The House received a communication from Honorable Thomas J. Rooney, Member of Congress. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Rooney notified the House that he had been served with a subpoena for documents issued by the Circuit Court for St. Lucie County, Florida, in connection with a civil case pending there, and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he had determined that compliance with the subpoena was consistent with the privileges and rights of the House.

The House received a communication from Honorable Gregory W. Meeks, Member of Congress. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Meeks notified the House that his district office had been served with a subpoena for documents issued by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he had determined that compliance with the subpoena was consistent with the privileges and rights of the House.

Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on April 13, 2010 at 9:50 a.m.: That the Senate passed H.R. 4887, without amendment.

The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on April 12, 2010 at 3:11 p.m.: Notifying the House of the filing of the answer by G. Thomas Porteous Jr., District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana, and providing a copy of his answer to the House of Representatives.
