In 2000, Paul Drazek, Craig Thorn, and Kevin Brosch founded DTB Associates, LLP to provide legal, strategic, and tactical advice to producers and exporters competing in the global food and fiber markets. These agriculture trade policy experts had experience dating back decades, including U.S. government service and industry representation during the GATT Tokyo Round (1973-79), the Uruguay Round (1986-94) creating the World Trade Organization, and the negotiations on the North American Free Trade Agreement (1988-94). They brought that expertise with them to DTB, which to this day continues that tradition of deep knowledge of trade policy and fresh strategic insights on the evolving issues affecting global commerce.
Since its founding, the DTB team has been involved in headline-grabbing WTO disputes like the hormones and biotechnology cases between the United States and the European Union and the U.S. cases against farm subsidies and market access barriers in China. Beyond the headlines, DTB has helped its clients solve, mitigate, and fight a multitude of policies that would increase trade uncertainty and reduce income for farmers and companies that rely on global markets.
In 2020, DTB Associates rebranded as DTB AgriTrade to honor the legacy of its founders and better reflect the strength of the firm as a leader in agricultural trade policy.
