Biography:
The son of Mexican immigrants, Representative Casar is a former Austin City Council member and movement organizer.

As a council member, Greg authored the paid-sick-days laws that passed in Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas. He worked to keep the city-supported Planned Parenthood clinic in East Austin open as the state legislature threatened to close it, cleared the decades-long backlog of sexual assault evidence kits and expanded shelter for survivors of family violence.
